Get Ready for Fall! Must-Haves for Fall 2009

Hello Fashionistas!
I'm back and SOOOO ready for FALL fashion. Although the weather has been definitely moving up and down lately over here in the east coast. While I was in NYC, I caught a lot of stores, ready in full swing for the fall. Fall 2009 is a lot more edgier and sharp but with a touch of fem

Here are the top trends for Fall 2009:

1. Over-the-knee boots!!!

Boots from Christian Louboutin--$1400
These are definitely a HOT HOT HOT trend. I think that they help to elongate your legs and enhances your contours. Rodarte, most notably had gorgeous over the knee boots tramping down the runaway last spring. I also like this trend because when it's cold and you want to wear that short mini dress or skirt, the over the knee boots will definitely help to keep your legs warm.

2. NEON

Michael Kors Pink Sheath Dress

Bright colors are a must! During the winter/fall season, night comes quickly and it's usually dark and dreary and a lot of the colors for fall are generally dark. However, with a neon piece, you can definitely give those dark colors and the monotone outfits a pop! Try pairing a neon color, such as neon pink (the color that looks great on every skin tone) with a grey piece.

3. One Shoulder Dresses
One shoulder dresses are hot! They accentuate the shoulders and outline the arms nicely. The exposed shoulder also brings attention to the face. It is truly a flattering outfit. Pair it with pumps and a hot clutch!

4. Edgy Leather Pieces--ROCK ON!
Black leather is definitely a staple for the Fall. The essential black leather jacket is still sticking around for this season. Also entering the season is the leather tube dress that is making it's rounds among fashionistas. Black leather gives the outfit a tough girl look, but bring it together with a girlie dress and you have one rocking outfit! Points if the black leather jacket has cool studds and embellishments!

5. Broad and Pronounced Shoulders
Shoulders are in this season. I never really thought about showing off my shoulders. They were just the area that connects with my neck and arm. But it's definitely a throwback to the 80s but more modernized and updated. I like how it kind of puts a front of dominance that is protruded by the shoulders. Who knows though if i can pull it off.

6. Look at me LBD!
The LBD dress is definitely getting it's own edgier look this season. Forget the simple and elegant LBD that is classic and can be worn for ages to come...blah blah blah. The new LBD will be more like SHAZAM! It's going to look a lot more geometric, snazzy, abstractly artistic, and need I say more? Very excited for this! I love pairing black dress with bright shoes and accessories. Nothing like a hot combo!

7. Say whaaa..SEQUINS!
The days are shorter during the Fall and Winter and the nights longer. Let's bring the shine and sparkle with sequins! Sequins really can make a great outfit if done correctly. I love the colors that sequins can create in different lights. Don't overdue it though, like don't wear a sequin dress with sequin shoes. It's just too much. Give the outfit a little bit of contrast.

There's an app for that

Ladies and Gents:

Presenting the Gilt Groupe App on the Iphone! I dl, it's definitely very convenient  and easy to purchase and access the latest goods when they first go on sale.

It's free so definitely check that out.

There are other style apps, such as Shopstyle which is like the online website where you can search for the items you want and actually purchase them right from your phone. Awesomeness!

peace.
