Wear your boyfriend's jeans!

Hello!! This is my first time blogging!! I will be contributing to this lovely blog....mostly talking about clothes because who doesn't love clothes right??? I will try to post weekly outfits...mostly stuff I wear, will wear, or would like to wear :-). So as my first blog I will talk about a big trend this year. Many of you may know it...boyfriend jeans!!!! I chose to talk about boyfriend jeans today because it was raining today and sometimes I just want to wear something comfortable and found myself wanting a pair of boyfriend jeans. When I first heard of this trend I didn't like it because I thought it looked so sloppy but after trying a pair on I think boyfriend jeans are great, they're very comfortable. They would be great for a day like this when its raining and yucky and you just want to slouch around. I would pair these jeans with a plain black tank top. I chose the Michael Stars tank because they are a one size fits all brand and are also very comfortable. Pairing a black tank top with the jeans seems to fit the whole boyfriend theme...yes?? Another great thing about boyfriend jeans is anyone can wear them...all shapes and sizes!! So if you're in the mood to feel comfortable yet cute grab yourself a pair of these jeans. Don't want to spend your money? Just wear your boyfriend's jeans since the style is loose fitting, a worn wash and rolled up at the bottom...very easy to create. Thanks Katie Holmes!!

P.S. If you want to make this outfit look even cuter and add a girly touch accessorize!! I would wear a long chain necklace like this Betsey Johnson one. I love Betsey Johnson jewelry so I will always try to add some funk with her stuff.

Cocoa Butter!

I wish I was that cool person who has a story behind all their scars, but the most interesting thing I can say about my scars without lying is that mosquitoes love me. And I can never resist the urge to scratch that itch! It used to be so bad when I was a kid that my aunts and uncles used to literally tell me, "I don't think you should wear shorts anymore." Ouch, haha.

Now, though? My legs look much smoother, softer, and the scars have visibly faded all thanks to the miracle that is cocoa butter! Cocoa butter has been known to help fade scars and even out skin tone, which is perfect for scarred up legs like mine, stretch marks, and just in general, it is an excellent moisturizer.

Below are some of my favorite brands of lotion that I use that contain cocoa butter.

Queen Helene's Cocoa Butter Hand and Body Lotion retails for less than 5$ at your local Wal-Mart, and it comes in a huge bottle that will last. I've been using mine for almost eight months now, and I still have about a third left. I lather this on my legs and arms every night after I shower, and it helps keep my skin soft and has somewhat helped in the appearance of my skintone.

Palmer's Cocoa Butter is a litte bit more expensive at 4.97 at Wal-Mart, and you get about half as much as you do with Queen Helene's. However, from my own personal experience, I've found that Palmer's has helped me with scars and with evening out skin tone much more quickly than Queen Helene's, and it's also more moisturizing for those of you with drier skin.

Another thing to take into consideration is that Cacao Extract (aka Cocoa Butter) is listed as the second ingredient in Palmer's lotion, whereas with Queen Helene's has it listed as the 7th ingredient. So even though Palmer's is slightly more expensive and you get less, it has a higher content of cocoa butter and is thus, more likely to help you with scars and skintone.

Whichever lotion you decide to use though, I think they're both great options for those of you looking for excellent body lotions!

My Holy Grail Shadows

So instead of studying for my finals like I should be, I'm procrastinating by doing a quick post on my holy grail shadows aka the three eye shadows I absolutely cannot live without.

If I could only pick three colors to use for my daytime/nighttime/whatevertime looks for the rest of my life, it'd be a pretty sad existence :( but these three colors would definitely get me through it.So from left to right we have: Milani Eye Shadow in Sun Goddess, Too Faced Eye Shadow in Label Whore, and Cover Girl Eye Shadow in Shimmering Onyx.

I apologize for the heavily washed out looking photo. My camera has an inordinately bright flash, so the colors come out looking washed out, but I definitely assure you that they are very vivid colors with great pigmentation.

I love these three colors because they're from three very different brands, and they vary in terms of affordability.

For daytime looks, I usually wear Milani Sun Goddess because for a drugstore brand, it really is a quality shadow. It has great pigmentation, usually needing only one or two swipes for pigmentation, and this color has been compared to Amber Lights from MAC. It's a great orange-y, bronze color that really just brightens up my eyes and draws attention to them without being overbearing.

For nighttime looks, I absolutely loooove Too Faced Label Whore. It's this great metallic brown color that is a duochrome that flashes green or blue depending on the light. I love this color for when I'm going out clubbing or to a concert or any occasion where I want a dramatic eye.

For the crease, setting my eye liner, and smoky looks, I love Cover Girl Shimmering Onyx. Again, it's a very affordable, and I use it for EVERYTHING. I use it to set my eyeliner, I use it for smoky eyes and again, you can pair it with any of the above two colors for a great look! It's a nice black with bits of silver glitter in it, but trust me, the silver glitter is very fine and not overbearing, and it really serves more to draw attention to the black than anything else. It can go on as sheer or dark as you want it to be, and I love it!

So those are my three holy grail shadows, let me know which ones are yours!

I'm Back!---What happens in Vegas, needs to stay in Vegas ;)

Hey fellow fashionistas!

Well, I'm back from my business trip in Las Vegas. It was pretty fun and good overall even though there were times that I was really annoyed or tired. Shopping in Las Vegas is pretty fun. There's a lot of hidden treasures a good price. For example, I got three Juicy Couture charms for 14.95 each a boutique in the Mirage hotel. It was pretty sweet! They have so many shops, but too bad my budget was a strict one. At Caesars, they were getting ready to open an Seven for All Mankind store. Too bad I missed it. Anywho, I have much to do to get back to boring reality. It was nice to get away from responsibility and go crazy without having to worry about anything. That's all for now.

Here some pictures below from Vegas!

Tao Nightclub Entrance (best club ever)

My Holy Grail Bag--Valentino Histore Patent Tote

The Valentino store in Caesar Forums...I loved the color theme here!

The Paris hotel on the Las Vegas strip.

The infamous Bellagio fountain show...it was very beautiful. Music was also playing in the background.

it's LAS VEGAS, BABY!

Hey guys--I'm too busy to do a real post today. I'm on a business trip in Las Vegas. So far so good. Can't complain. Nice weather..but not so nice people. But I digress. Anyways, shopping in Vegas is pretty fun. There's a range of high end shopping and reasonable priced shopping. Since I've been here, I've not been able to shop. Although, I was passing through the Caesar Forum Shops and saw the Marc Jacobs store. It was pretty swanky. I couldn't take pics, but there were some really cute clothes I really wanted to steal. One days, girls, one day. Anyways, I have to go back to work.

Sephora Haul

Hello everyone, I'm Lily, the other contributor to this lovely blog! So today, I went on a Sephora shopping trip because:

1. I am lucky enough to be a Sephora Beauty Insider and to have received the 15% off in store coupon.

2. I've been lusting after that Buxom lipgloss for like the past month.

3. I needed some new makeup for a wedding tonight and an upcoming banquet!

If you are as in love with Sephora as I am, you need to seriously consider becoming a Sephora Beauty Insider. They send you this nice little card, and you get emails about deals and discounts. You get a gift every year on your bday, and depending on how much you spend in the store, you get nice little samples like the Bad Gal Lash mascara I got today! They give you tons of samples to choose from like body scrubs, tinted moisturizers, and etc.

Now onto my purchases!

Bare Escentuals Buxom Lips in Destiny (18.00$)
Now, I know, this is pretty pricy for a lipgloss, but ever since I tried this color on in store about a month ago, I haven't been able to get it out of my head! It's the perfect coral-pink color that has color and shine to make your lips look amazing. It also plumps lips, and I love the tingly feeling. I like it more than my Lip Venom so far, and I think it does a better job of plumping!

Urban Decay Eyeshadow in S&M (16.00$)
I've been looking for a silver/gray color to do a smoky eye with, and bam! I swatched this on my hand and eyes, and I fell in love with it. Granted, it's a color you could easily find elsewhere, but the pigmentation in UD eyeshadows is amazing. I only need one or two swipes to get full, saturated color. Earlier tonight for the wedding, I did a great smoky eye with this color on the lid and black in the crease. The only thing is that there is quite a bit of fall out, so be careful with that.

Benefit Bad Gal Lash
I got this as my free sample, and I haven't had a chance to try it out yet, but when I do, I'll give you my review on it.

So in conclusion, I got three amazing, quality items for approximately 30 bucks, when without my discount, it would have been close to 40 or 50 dollars. Yay for Sephora Beauty Insiders, and if you're not a member yet, sign up asap!

Off topic--Beach fun!

Like many of you living in areas where there's still cold weather lingering, all I can think of is warm sand, blazing sun, nice weather with a breeze, and a little Bahama mama drink to cool you down. I want to be at the beach so bad! Hopefully, I'll make some time for the beach this summer.

Will you be heading to fun times in the sun at the beach any time soon?

Topshop...all hype??

Well, all of you may already know that Topshop opened its first US doors in NYC in the past weeks. It was a crazy event. I occasionally check out the stuff online and I have to say that some of their stuff are a tad pricey. I don't know if I'd spend that much on some of their stuff. But it's definitely cute and chic! Just like this Pyramid-High Sandal Boot! I love the cut-out style of this boot, it's mad hot. I love love shoes and this would definitely go great with a tulip white skirt and a nice black tank or some sort of cotton shirt. You don't want to wear a shiny silky shirt with this because you want to let the shoes to speak for themselves. I can already see it! What do you think?

Look at the shoe lounge they have at Topshop NY! Loves it!!

Mac lip Conditioner in Hello Kitty!!

I can't tell you how much I love MAC. Good quality makeup. All their eyeshadows are highly pigmented, their lip stuff is awesome and so much more. I can go on forever, but I think we can all agree that MAC is the best or at least one of the best. This Spring season they collaborated with the Hello Kitty brand and damn do I love it! I totally love Hello Kitty, my check card and credit card has the Hello Kitty design. This new lip tint conditioner is simply the best. Sometimes when you're on the run and you don't have time to put on lipstick or have dry lips, but need color, this is the definitely a good solution. I really love lip tints and stains because they last a long time. Just dab it on and then you're good to go!
