My Holy Grail Shadows

So instead of studying for my finals like I should be, I'm procrastinating by doing a quick post on my holy grail shadows aka the three eye shadows I absolutely cannot live without.

If I could only pick three colors to use for my daytime/nighttime/whatevertime looks for the rest of my life, it'd be a pretty sad existence :( but these three colors would definitely get me through it.So from left to right we have: Milani Eye Shadow in Sun Goddess, Too Faced Eye Shadow in Label Whore, and Cover Girl Eye Shadow in Shimmering Onyx.

I apologize for the heavily washed out looking photo. My camera has an inordinately bright flash, so the colors come out looking washed out, but I definitely assure you that they are very vivid colors with great pigmentation.

I love these three colors because they're from three very different brands, and they vary in terms of affordability.

For daytime looks, I usually wear Milani Sun Goddess because for a drugstore brand, it really is a quality shadow. It has great pigmentation, usually needing only one or two swipes for pigmentation, and this color has been compared to Amber Lights from MAC. It's a great orange-y, bronze color that really just brightens up my eyes and draws attention to them without being overbearing.

For nighttime looks, I absolutely loooove Too Faced Label Whore. It's this great metallic brown color that is a duochrome that flashes green or blue depending on the light. I love this color for when I'm going out clubbing or to a concert or any occasion where I want a dramatic eye.

For the crease, setting my eye liner, and smoky looks, I love Cover Girl Shimmering Onyx. Again, it's a very affordable, and I use it for EVERYTHING. I use it to set my eyeliner, I use it for smoky eyes and again, you can pair it with any of the above two colors for a great look! It's a nice black with bits of silver glitter in it, but trust me, the silver glitter is very fine and not overbearing, and it really serves more to draw attention to the black than anything else. It can go on as sheer or dark as you want it to be, and I love it!

So those are my three holy grail shadows, let me know which ones are yours!
