(500) Days of Summer

Sigh. I just got back from watching this movie, and my head is still spinning. (500) Days of Summer is unique, poignant, hilarious, and all around fucking awesome. I definitely recommend that you check it out.

Here are a couple of quotes to get you intrigued...

"This is a story of boy meets girl. The boy, Tom Hansen, grew up believing that he’d never truly be happy until the day he met the one. The girl, Summer Finn, did not share this belief. You should know up front this is not a love story."

"He's got a face like Brad Pitt and Jesus' abs."

Tom’s Co-worker: I tried to talk to her in the coffee room she’s totally not having it.

Tom: Maybe she was just in a hurry.

Tom’s Co-worker: And maybe she’s an uppity, better-than-everyone super skank.

Not only are you gonna love the movie, you can go just to drool over how stunning Zooey Deschanel is in this movie. It's pretty much the retro style that Zooey normally rocks but man, does she make it look good. There are a lot of hair bows, ribbons tied in the hair, and cute vintage frocks. Lots of skirts with tights, puffed shirts, and old-school styling going on in the movie. She's like a more relaxed, approachable, less uppity version of Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl.

Don't get me wrong, I love Blair Waldorf, but her style is sometimes a bit too contrived, perfect, and thought out for my liking. I love the thrown, slightly mussed up look a bit more, and Zooey looks perfect throughout the entire movie!

This is her work attire, people! I lurve the navy tie blouse with the ivory vest over it! And the blue ribbon she ties in the back of her ponytail is so adorable I want to rip out her scalp and place it on mine. Kidding! Kinda. Lucky for her scalp, that the ribbon on the back of her ponytail is completely doable.
I love her dress in this shot, and I absolutely love her hair throughout the entire movie. It's imperfectly perfect.
Ch-ch-check it out!
